Nature, the new luxury.
This weekend, I did something I haven't done before. CAMPING! I joined some friends with my family to a hunting range 4hrs north of Sydney and let me tell you... It did NOT disappoint. May have even been one of the best experiences thus far...
The week before I left, I spent my time shopping for outfits that would work for the activities we had planned. After searching everywhere, I'm grateful to say I found some great modest camping outfits to pack with me.
Camping doesn't necessarily mean looking frumpy or throwing on a pair of 'old' clothes. In fact, I now believe there's an art to looking good while in the outback, regardless of the activities you do. Here are my top essentials any hijabi needs for your modest camping outfits.

How many clothes to take camping?
Depending on how long you're staying, I would say take an outfit for each day. Based on the options I've suggested above, you can also rely on mixing and matching with just one pair of pants and boots and bringing different tops for options. Sticking with a colour theme also helps with being able to create multiple ensembles from minimal pieces.
To be precise, my trip lasted 3 days and I happened to bring an outfit for each day. I personally love changing my clothes, mainly for the vibes and also to take pictures in. If you'd like, you can check out my insta post I shared recently showcasing modest camping outfits.
How to dress for a camp?
This really depends on your personal style, but I personally love timeless looks, so I often draw inspiration from that. When it comes to dressing for modest camping outfits, it's easier than it sounds. Many of the pieces you'll need are likely already in your capsule wardrobe. The key is to mix and match different items to create multiple outfits.
For tops, I recommend packing a linen or cotton long-sleeve button-up in any colour you like. Since camp is often associated with the outdoors, earthy and nature-inspired shades work really well. Think neutrals, blacks, whites, and various shades of green. For pants, opt for comfortable yet stylish options like cargo pants, loose-fitting styles, and denim wide-leg flares. Boots are a must — leather or rubber — while espadrilles and sneakers are great for low-key activities that won’t leave you too messy. A belt bag is a fantastic way to elevate your outfit, as it’s both stylish and functional. You can check out my Pinterest Board below on Modest Camping Outfits.
