Your outfit and makeup is one thing. But honey, if your skin is needy, then you got something else coming...
You cannot, and I repeat, you CANNOT have a flawless base of makeup when your skin is quenching for thirst. Not only will your makeup look crazy, it won't last as long and quite frankly won't look good either.
Ensuring healthy and hydrated skin is ESPECIALLY important while on holidays because your skin needs to adapt to different weather, water, and others factors. So providing it with the utmost hydration and care is key.
Below I've listed all the products (in travel size) you'll need when packing on a trip. You can include all or some of these items, depending on your preference.
Skincare Travel Bag
These are the list of skincare items you're going to need to ensure a well-nourished, hydrated and glowy base. Travelling means dehydration. No matter where you go. Your skin starts to feel extra needy, and you need to ensure you're well-equipped with the goods to keep your skin from going a little crazy. Even if you manage to get a gorgeous, sun-kissed glow, you still need to hydrate so your skin stays that way. Nobody wants to look WORSE coming back from a trip. So here is a detailed list of all the skincare products I highly recommend. Although this is an extensive list, you can go accordingly or choose the products you feel you most need.
Skin food
Only the best moisturiser you'll ever come across. Can be used for your face and ENTIRE body and comes in the perfect travel size. Thank me later.
violet-C brightening Serum
Vitamin C is used for preventing fine lines and wrinkles, as well as balances discolouration on your skin. BUT and most importantly why you need it, is because it protects your skin from free radicals which you're exposed to daily. So yes, a must-have for your trip.
rice Toner
Not many people understand the use of toners. And quite frankly, they aren't the MOST important item to pack in your skincare travel bag. However, they aid in long-term healthy skin by removing any dirt or bacteria.
foaming Cleanser
Cleansers are necessary. Don't neglect this item. It's the 'soap' you use to wash your face in the morning and before you sleep. La Mer is known for it's luxury products, and who doesn't want a little luxury travelling with them.
glow OH spot Toner
My favourite toner to implement in your night time routine. Apply this product with a cotton pad and leave overnight without applying anything else. When you wake up, the most beautiful glow and even skin awaits you.
aHA Moisturiser
AHA's are good for exfoliating the skin, improving skin texture and (if you have any) acne reduction. If you're like me and don't want them wrinkles creeping up, then you need this, if not the most!
Night Repair Eye Cream
From my experience working in Sephora, eye creams are not miracle workers and will not remove any dark circles and fine lines under your eyes. HOWEVER, they can aid in minimising them. And of course, consistency is key.
Lip sleeping Mask
The BEST lip mask/gloss I have ever tried. Use it as part of your skincare for hydrated lips, or as a gloss on its' own. It is perfect, smells amazing and comes in cute little sizes if you buy them in gift packs. Also comes in many flavours.
relief Sun
I know many sunscreens that claim to be 'beneficial' can actually do more harm than good, considering the amount of chemicals they use in them. This on the other hand, not the same and so good for your skin!
Micellar Water
The only makeup remover (other than the YSL Expert Makeup Remover) that ACTUALLY removes your mascara. Cleans every ounce of makeup remaining on your skin, ensuring nothing is left behind.
Nourishing Treatment mask
So extra, but so good! The good thing is they come in sachets, so you can pack 1 for a night of self care. Helps rejuvenate and hydrate your skin back to its best self.
facial cotton
These cotton pads feel like clouds. They're actually really nice and gentle on the skin. If you want a cheaper dupe with better value, Daiso stock cotton pads almost exactly the same as these with 160 pieces in the pack!
